Question for Neeta Many Michigan residents and taxpayers are not conscious of the kinds of programs that their tax dollars fund. Can you name for them a few of the most successful programs that receive state funding?

Can you also name those that have received the most state funding?

Thank you for the reply, Neeta. Another question For many people it's all about the numbers -- not just how much they are paying each week or month for taxes, but what the return is on their tax dollars.

Does ArtServe have any statistics about the return to communities related to expenditures on the arts? Matrix Theatre, for example; is there a dollar amount identitifed that the their work returns to the community?

Response to last question When the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs has done this calculation in the past, they have found that overall, for every dollar in grants awarded by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, the return is thirteen dollars.
