Thank you Ms. Melzer, Mr. Morley and the whole MI Messenger team for proving otherwise. Bravo!

Re: Messenger rejects GOP plea for retraction

I'm glad you guys didn't allow them to intimidate you.

Re: Messenger rejects GOP plea for retraction

When we say things like "Republicans are evil" we're just going by the evidence. Conservatism has only one "value": Rich white guys don't want to pay taxes. That's all it is.
That's the easiest sell in the world when you can hide behind the flag, Jesus, mom, apple pie and all anything else they can come up with. Even then, they have to CHEAT to win.

Re: Messenger rejects GOP plea for retraction

Thank you for standing up for us little guys. Illegitemati non carborundum! Would anyone being foreclosed on vote for McCain? Perhaps maintaining their voters registration is the last thing on their minds. Would be if it was me. (There is actually a registered Republican ex-elected official in my town who was recently foreclosed against. Don't know if he's shifted his political support or not...) Maybe McCain could share/spare a house or two of the reportedly seven or eight that he owns.

Re: Messenger rejects GOP plea for retraction

Thanks for standing up for Michigan voters!! Your diligence helps make sure Michigan does not go the way of Ohio and Florida in caging voters. Keep up the good work!

Re: Messenger rejects GOP plea for retraction

Again check www.apcdefault.com another company dealing in foreclosures owned by David Trott who also owns the building housing McCains Headquarters here in Michigan and is and has been a large financial contributor and supporter of the Republican Party. Just "google" his name. Ya thinks he has anything to do with the foreclosure "lists" Carabelli refers to. All offices are in the same complex in Farmington Hills.
John McCain is a veteran, an American hero and a great man. David Trott ... not so much !

Re: Messenger rejects GOP plea for retraction

Way to go, Jefferson Morley! Independent media have a responsibility in this election season particularly to point out and arouse citizen action -- people at the polls on election day? -- to stop corruption of the voting process by Republicans who want to disenfranchise lower-income people since they tend to vote Democratic. Comments by rosewren02 below are true, but Repubs won't verify, they'll just lie and say they verified and block people at the polls. There has to be Democratic pollwatching or serious Michigan lawmakers' intervention before Nov.7, preferably both.

Re: Messenger rejects GOP plea for retraction

To make sure that you are registered to vote correctly please go to www.michigan.gov/vote. I believe that there you can check to see if you are registered and to what address. You only have until October 6th.

Re: Messenger rejects GOP plea for retraction

Even if a home has been foreclosed a homeowner can remain in the home for 6 months after it has been auctioned as they have 6 months to catch up payments or make arrangements so if they are still using the foreclosed address that could still be their address. I think Repub would have to verify the occupancy of the home in order to use that list as their basis to contest a voter's right to vote.
