The Michigan Messenger: MoveOn.org fires first salvo of the general election with TV attack ad

Yet the Navy ads play every so often.... Our very own government relies on those toddler's to grow big, strong, smart, healthy, and heterosexual.  How else are they supposed to attack the "enemy"

Isn't somewhat unamerican not to be handing your first born to go fight the war on terror if they are physically, emotionally, and willing to be able to do so?

Fundamental question of liberty Why should any of us "breeders" have kids if we're merely raising them to become cannon fodder?  where is our fundamental right to "life, liberty and pursuit of happiness" if we can only expect another 100 years chained to Iraq?

Why should my kids, who were merely children when the Iraq War launched, expect to sign on to supporting this occupation as adults, or provide their children and their grandchildren to this effort?

Somebody has to draw the line on this debacle. It starts here with mothers like me and Alex's mom.

Take William I think everyone is missing the point. Everyone except this mother in an identical situation: http://www.236.com/n...

Maybe you can't have Alex, but you can take William Mr. McCain.

Oh, we didn't miss the point William represents TODAY'S all-volunteer military, where a large percentage of the troops are there because they haven't been wanted by a thriving (hah!) economy.

Alex is the draft we haven't had and probably would need to have if we were to give in to McCain's hundred-years-of-occupation model.

In either case, our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren shouldn't be so disposable at some old man's whim.

Army for $ As Rayne said, so many young men in poverty ridden or just low-income families turn to the military because they think it's the only way out. Recruiters swarm low income areas for just that reason. So if William and Alex have $$$ then they may have more choices if there's no draft.
